August 27th, Boardworks teamed up with our neighboring skate shops, Unknown and WWS, to host a skate Jam for the Kombucha To Kirby Block Party and Skate Expo. The fun run was a fundraiser event with music, vendors, and other fun activities for Camp Fire Samish. Camp Fire Samish is a traditional youth camp with emphasis on: outdoor living experiences, building self-worth, building self-confidence, individual growth, and having fun in a safe environment.
The Bellingham Harold was gracious enough to lend the event their parking lot so we could bring in ramps and skate all day long. All of the skate shops brought a feature or two, making for a fun street-focused course for everyone to skate.
We would like to give a big thank you to the Kombucha to Kirby event organizers as well as Unknown and WWS for collaborating on this event with us. It was an absolute blast.
Below we have compiled some photos of everyone skating at the event. Feel free to snag them and use them if you see yourself stomping a trick!
The Boardworks Tech Shop crew set up a longboard demo booth.
There were tons of different boards to try.
People could cruise the parking lot while skaters hit the pop up park.
