The WWU Ski and Snowboard Club hosted their first meeting of the year at Boardworks to introduce new club members and get stoked for the coming snow. The anticipation for winter was palpable with this crew of college rippers as they introduced one another, checked out gear, and swapped shred stories.
Once everyone and settled in and had been stoked out watching snowboard and ski videos on the shop projector, Nicholas Fields (Club Sponsor Liaison) made an announcement. By purchasing a Black Diamond sticker for $20 from the club that members put on their student I.D., WWU Ski and Snowboard students get discounts from participating shops on gear and services, including Boardworks Tech Shop. All the money the club collects from these membership fees will go towards funding club functions such as video premiers, shred trips, and more. Boardworks is stoked to support local students and shredders.
We will be teaming up with the WWU Ski and Snowboard Club throughout the next year to spread the stoke of winter and host rad local events, so keep an eye out.
Below are some photos from the first club meeting's festivities. Make sure to catch the next one if you are a current WWU student or a local rider that wants to meet new people to shred with! You can check out club functions and other snow events here.
