RECAP | Ladies Snowboard Night at Boardworks Tech Shop

Posted by on

March 3rd 2018, Boardworks hosted its first Snowboard Ladies Night to get all of Bellingham's local lady rippers together. While everyone was welcome to attend, the event was all about the ladies. The goal of hosting a snowboard event specifically for ladies was to provide a space for women in our local community to come together and meet one another. While there are tons of ripping ladies in the Bellingham, Washington area, they may not get the chance to meet one another depending on the groups they typically ride with.

Throughout the night we had women's snowboard films playing on our shop projector, such as Full Moon and Too Hard Squad videos.

If you haven't seen Full Moon our any Too Hard Squad videos, you are seriously missing out. Full Moon features a sick crew of professional women's snowboarders absolutely RIPPING pow with some next level cinematography capturing it all.

Too Hard Squad are some of the most bad ass ladies that jib out there. They rip hard, crash hard, and do all kinds of hood-rat stuff.

While attendees drank wine and watched snowboard videos, they could also wax their snowboards for free at self wax stations setup around the shop. Techs were on standby if anyone wanted help or directions waxing their setup.

We also had a sale on all snowboard gear for ladies.

In addition to all of the festivities going on for the evening, there was a ladies snowboard gear pot-luck where people could donate gear for those that needed it, or take gear that they needed themselves. One girl showed up that wanted to get into snowboarding but was having a hard time affording all the gear. Lucky for her, there was a snowboard, boots, bindings, jacket, pants, and goggles all in her size in the gear pot luck. She left with a head to toe setup, stoked as could be. All leftover gear from the pot-lock was donated to the Blaine High School Snowboard and Ski Club.

By the end of the evening we had about 30 ladies in attendance, all drinking wine, eating cheese, waxing boards, and swapping shred stories.

A few of the girls apparently sent it a little too hard.

The more wine drank, the more shenanigans ensued.

The crew at ladies night killed a few bottles of wine, and everyone had a good time. Thank you to everyone who came out!
