Korua Shapes Escalator Split Plus

Boardworks Breakdown:

This is a killer shape for a split. Just enough tail to put down the landing gear, with a wide early rocker nose for epic float. Pair that with a solid section of camber between the feet for supreme edge hold and quick touring and you got yourself a SICK split. On top of that it is stiff enough to charge, light weight enough to be efficient, and the union clips gives it a surprisingly dank connection. We are stoked on this thing.

Manufacturer's Description:

FOR THE BIG ADVENTURES
Whether it’s fresh powder or old pressed snow, the Escalator Split Plus is designed for a power-saving ascent in alpine terrain, without compromising downhill performance. This ultra-light splitboard is your best companion on long and demanding adventures deep into the backcountry. Not only designed for the climb, it also offers an incredible riding experience on the way down, be that through steep and technical terrain or wide-open big mountain lines.
PERSONALITY
The slightly narrower frame makes this shape agile from edge to edge on the way down, and provides excellent grip in the skin track when in climb-mode. The split-specific flex pattern and directional setback offer a smooth riding sensation. We recommend to pair this board with a light binding and boot setup to maximize your vertical meters and quality of turns.

This chart shows the range in what each size can handle. It is never our intention to categorize riders and their preferences. Our philosophy of snowboarding is to try new shapes, lengths, widths, and to keep an open mind for alternative riding experiences; however, we do have some limits to consider so that your board will work as it was designed to.

Your weight plays a major role in how the board will flex, and your shoe size will affect toe and heel drag when turning. The below size chart is for reference only, as our recommendations may vary depending on your stance and riding ability.

TECHNOLOGY

The Escalator Split features our FLOAT CAMBER, which curves into a rocker shape in the nose, giving you the lift you need in deep powder and stability under-foot on the uphill. To further enhance the performance and durability of this ultralight shape we upgraded the Escalator with the snow-repellent and repairable Perlatech topsheet. The nose holes secure our U-Hook skin mounting system and the nose notch prevents hang ups in the skin track. For an easy and quick setup we suggest using our pre-cut custom skins on this shape.

CONSTRUCTION

The Escalator Split Plus features a dynamic multiaxial full carbon construction, super-light bionic core design, stringer reinforced paulownia wood, and the highest grade nano high-speed sintered base material for a lighter, faster, and more responsive ride.
